This is the second of three related lots with uncut box backs from early 1960’s Post Cereal, arguably the most popular nonmainstream baseball issue of the era. For the second year in a row, Post offered the youth of America a complete set of 200 cards of their favorite baseball players, each individual card precariously printed on the back of the company’s vast armada of breakfast cereals. Typically found with varying degrees of less-than-sterling craftsmanship with the clumsy family scissors, the individual cards can thus be highly treasured when found in uncut form like this, with six cards presented on each box back stacked three high on each side, along with a bit of company hoo-hah about how to collect the complete set. This lot boasts six complete box backs totaling 36 different cards, with each of the backs having the same kind of erratic cut, but all six of the cards are intact and are not infringed by the cut. Here’s the lineup: No. 8, 9 Ford, 20 Kaline, 21, 33, 34, 43, 44, 52, 53, 62, 63, 71, 72, 80, 81, 89, 90, 98, 99, 107, 108, 111, 122 Frank Robinson, 123, 137, 138, 151, 152, 164, 165, 175, 176, 188 Banks, 189 and 199.
