This is yet another outstanding example of one of the most condition-sensitive Topps issues from its inaugural effort in 1951 in producing a variety of baseball card issues as precursors to their iconic 1952 set the following year, in this instance featuring the most important and expensive card in the issue, Babe Ruth. At 2 1/16-by-5 ¼ inches, the issue combined its elongated dimensions with the die-cut configuration designed to yield a standing figure as elements that added to condition woes, making a completely intact example like this one all the more appealing. In an issue typically encountered with cards with the red background missing entirely, finding The Babe in this attractive PSA 3.5 example with perforations seemingly never trifled with and a vivid red background without any whisper of difficulties is a genuine triumph indeed.
