It doesn't get any better than this, at least not for us. This is easily the nicest 1955 Bowman Baseball set that we have ever handled, a blazing sharp Ex-Mt to Near-Mint blazer (91 percent) with more than ½ of the set already entombed in plastic and virtually all of the raw cards nearly as worthy of the same treatment. Fully 30 percent of the set is Near-Mint to Mint, and 60 percent Near-Mint or better. Starting with a stunning PSA 6.5 Mantle, the Hall of Famer lineup conforms nicely to the broader condition range, with a GAI 8.5 Al Lopez, PSA 8s of Eddie Mathews (BVG), Phil Rizzuto, Nellie Fox, Richie Ashburn and Enos Slaughter, PSA 7.5s of Lou Boudreau, Al Barlick and Nestor Chylak (SGC 86), and PSA 7s of No. 1 Wilhelm (BVG), Banks, Schoendienst, Kiner, Kell and Larsen. The set includes three of the variations and presents in a simply spectacular, uniform condition, boasting vivid colors and good gloss and affording a dramatic depiction of the cherry wood and blonde television sets that showcase Bowman’s final entry in the baseball card business. It’s very rare to find this classic set with an overwhelming majority of the cards seemingly subjected to little or no handling.
