Presented is a blazing 1981 Topps Basketball Vending Box of 500 cards as crisp and glistening as they were when they rolled off the presses 45 years ago. Even with some modest searching, the remaining lineup includes nearly six dozen Hall of Famers, including examples (often multiples) of the Tier One keys and Rookies, most notably with four copies of the Kevin McHale Rookie. As might be expected, the cards are pretty uniformly Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with a handful reaching Ex-Mt and centering fairly typical of Topps vending products. In the listing that follows, the cards indicated are the player’s regular-issue version unless otherwise noted. The breakdown: Abdul-Jabbar, Abdul-Jabbar Super Action, Archibald, Bird (2), Cheeks (2), Dantley (3), Davis (3), English (3), Erving, Gervin (2), Gilmore (3), Hayes (4), Issel (3), Dennis Johnson (2), Magic Johnson (3), King, Laimbeer Rookie, Lanier (2), Malone (3), McGinnis (3), McHale Rookie (4), Moncrief (3), Murphy (3), Parish (2), Sikma (3), Thompson (3) and Westphal (4), plus seven (7) Checklists, with three East, and two each Midwest and West, along with nearly four dozen Team Leader cards.
