Presented is a fascinating Babe Ruth-themed grouping of a game-used bat fragment, a commemorative Ruth souvenir bat and a 1935 Babe Ruth Quaker Oats Pinback Button. The headliner is a Highland Mint collectible derived from an important 1921-31 Hillerich & Bradsby Pro Model 125 Signature Model Ruth bat that the company won at auction in July of 2000. The fragment from the 35-inch, 42-ounce bat comes with a Highland Mint LOA and a COA from noted autograph expert John Reznikoff. Along with the Highland Mint piece, there is a 16-inch Commemorative Ruth Model miniature brown bat that is in outstanding condition, with Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger labeling and facsimile Ruth signature at the barrel. The Commemorative Bat has been well preserved, with only some light scratching or scuffing. The final element of the lot is a 1935 Babe Ruth Champions Pinback Button that was a premium offered to members of Quaker Oats Cereal's "Babe Ruth Club." Purchasers of Quaker Oats Puffed Wheat or Rice Cereals could send in a box top to join the club and receive a button and the opportunity to win prizes. The 7/8th inch in diameter pin is in Excellent condition, with some light wear to the rim on the back and barest whisper of rust to the needle. The back, which should be blank, features a sticker for Picayune Cigarettes.
