Presented is an intriguing group of pristine minor-league team sets featuring a number of important first cards from several Hall of Famers and stars from the closing decades of the 20th century. The team-issued sets are from four different Chicago White Sox affiliates and in the conventional 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch size unless otherwise indicated. Sets are in essentially as-issued condition, Ex-Mt-Plus to Near-Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum. The breakdown (6): 1) 1979 Knoxville White Sox (26) – with Kittle, Dal Canton, Burns and Dotson; 2) 1979 Iowa Oaks (16), 2 ½-by-3 ¾ inches – with Hoyt and Ward; 3) 1979 Iowa Oaks Police Set (14), 2 5/8-by-4 1/8 inches – with Baines, La Russa, Hoyt, Allen and Chappas; 4) 1981 Edmonton Trappers (24), 2 ¾-by-3 ½ inches; 5) 1986 Birmingham Barons (28) – with Thigpen, Mike Yastrzemski, Haller and Bolin; and 6) 1990 Birmingham Barons (28) – with Frank Thomas (two different poses), Hernandez (2) and Lee (2).
