Presented are eight original mostly pen-and-ink drawings from baseball artist T.S. O’Connell, artwork that was used to create a number of card sets that the company produced in the 1980s, including the Baseball Greats and Mini-Prints issues. Additionally, a majority of the entire group encompassing multiple auction lots were used to accompany editorial features in the pages of Sports Collectors Digest from 1987-2011 and in a handful of other hobby publications from 1987-92. The grouping is headlined by the likes of Sandy Koufax, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges and Walt Alston, among others, with each one being the original artwork that is signed by the artist. These pieces are typically drawn on 8 ½-by-11-inch heavy board for the pen-and-ink drawings and on a similar-size, high-quality textured poster board for the pencil and lithographer’s crayon pieces, with outliers noted in the listing below. The winning bidder should be aware that owning the original artwork does not convey any rights of reproduction, which are retained by O’Connell & Son Ink.
