Presented are nearly a dozen original pen-and-ink drawings from baseball artist T.S. O’Connell, artwork that was used to create a number of card sets that the company produced in the 1980s, including the Baseball Greats and Mini-Prints issues. Additionally, a majority of the entire group encompassing multiple auction lots were used to accompany editorial features in the pages of Sports Collectors Digest from 1987-2011 and in a handful of other hobby publications from 1987-92. The grouping is headlined by the likes of Larry Doby, Early Wynn, Rocky Colavito, Bill Veeck, Eddie Murray, Bob Lemon, Vic Power, Herb Score and a number of other stars from different eras, with each one being the original artwork that is signed by the artist. These pieces are typically drawn on 8 ½-by-11-inch heavy board for the pen-and-ink drawings and on a similar-size, high-quality textured poster board for the pencil and lithographer’s crayon pieces, with outliers noted in the listing below.
