This set features either six or 12 perforated stamps of famous entertainers on each panel, with the set title "Hollywood Official Stamps of the Stars & Studios First Series" at the top of each. The panels measure 4-1/8 x 7-3/8 inches and have a letter is printed in the upper left corner for one to organize the panels alphabetically. Dozens of movie stars are featured throughout this set, including Charlie Chaplin, Humphrey Bogart, Henry Fonda, Lana Turner, Clark Gable, and Joan Crawford, James Cagney, John Wayne, Lauren Bacall, Donna Reed, James Stewart, Ronald Reagan, Susan Hayward, Gregory Peck, Lucille Ball, Bette Davis, Fred Astaire, Gene Autry, Audrey Hepburn, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor and more. The set is composed of eight subsets: Starland Series (15 panels, lettered A-O), Various Series (12 panels, lettered P-Z and XX), International Series (four panels, lettered IN, WW, GB, and FF), Annual Academy Awards (three panels, lettered AAA-AAC), Academy Special and Supporting Awards (three panels, lettered ASA-ASC), Beauties Series (six panels, lettered PA-PF), Playing Card Series (one panel, lettered FC) and Historical Figures Series (one panel, lettered US). This extremely rare stamp set totals 45 unopened panels with 215 total stamps.
