This lot features three distinct elements of high-grade Topps baseball cards from the close of the 1970s, including a partial set from 1980, the final year of the Topps monopoly in the baseball card business. That partial set includes roughly the first 500 cards of the 726-card set, including an attractive Ex-Mt to Near-Mint Henderson Rookie that provides a nice glimpse into the wider condition range; the set is housed in nine-pocket sheets and binder. That attended to, there’s still the matter of nearly 400 or so 1978-79 Topps Burger King cards that were redistributed at the company’s outlets in the Metro New York area. The cards are largely identical to the regular-issue Topps cards from those years, with different numbering on the backs and a handful of different poses in each year, along with some relatively insignificant cropping changes. The cards are broadly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint for 1978 and Near-Mint or better for 1979, with a few below.
